The world is always changing; sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. All too often, change seems outside of our control. One of the most important things we can learn is that most changes are the result of human decisions we can help to make. It is essential that we all learn how and why change happens, and how what we decide and what we do today, will affect our own and others’ lives – now and in the future; far away and close to home.
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) aims to help people develop the knowledge and skills they need to bring about positive change and build a more sustainable future. Click on ESD to learn more.

WWF-UK believes that ESD is key to achieving a sustainable future. We have therefore been working with teachers and other education professionals since 1981 to explore approaches to ESD, as well as the benefits and challenges.
Our Learning for Sustainability programme covers professional development, networking, capacity building tools and resources, work with whole school communities, and management of the school estate. Click on Work with schools to learn more.
